Body earth connection
Submitted by admin on March 19, 2008 - 3:22pmThere is a wonderful symbiotic relationship between the earth and our bodies. The earth provides us with food, water and oxygen and we care for the earth - or at least we should care for it. It is important to find a way to care for ourselves while still caring for the earth.
Drench your body in lotion
Submitted by admin on December 24, 2009 - 9:00pmToday, I made Rosemary's Face Cream. The general recipe is pretty famous in herbal circles because it is so wonderful. I recently saw a video on HerbMentor.com by Rosemary Gladstar showing how to make this great cream. I had made it before but it was interesting to see her approach.
One of the things she talked about was cleaning up after making the cream. She said she takes the extra cream that is in the blender or bowl and rubs it all over and sometimes in her hair. So, today, when I was finished making lotion I did just that.
Take a walk
Submitted by admin on February 24, 2009 - 9:58amI've spent the last two weeks sick with the latest flu going around. Last evening I talked with my son and he had been sick as well. The main difference is it only lasted a few days for him. As we talked, I was thinking about why he would be healthier than me, besides age. In the course of the conversation he told me about several of his friends who had been ill. The common theme that seemed to run throughout how long someone was sick had to do with walking.
You see, my son uses public transportation almost exclusively. And, it requires he walk between some points.
Drink herbal infusions
Submitted by healingdeva on November 14, 2008 - 1:30pmNourishing herbs are filled with vitamins and minerals and feed our bodies on many levels. They are mild and are not prone to causing side effects. My favorites so far are nettle, oatstraw and chickweed. I make infusions from them and have been drinking them for about a month now. I find I have more energy, feel less depressed and feel motivated in my life again.
To make an herbal infusion, place one ounce of dried herb in a quart jar and pour boiling water over the herbs to fill the jar. Place a lid on and let sit for 4-8 hours. Strain the liquid off and keep in the refrigerator.
Looking for normalcy
Submitted by healingdeva on March 27, 2008 - 2:57pmWe live in a world where we look for symptoms. Does what is happening in my body look like a particular set of symptoms? Am I getting sick? It seems we are always looking, in part, for what is wrong rather than what is right with our bodies.
