Body earth connection

There is a wonderful symbiotic relationship between the earth and our bodies. The earth provides us with food, water and oxygen and we care for the earth - or at least we should care for it. It is important to find a way to care for ourselves while still caring for the earth.

Take food for example. We can grow food with lots of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, but then we slowly kill the earth. If we learn organic gardening we can care for the earth while we grow our food. In fact, there are many gardening techniques that actually build the soil, create habitat for beneficial insects (those that eat the ones we don't want) and conserve water.

So what are the many ways we care for our bodies and care for the earth? What foods do we put into our bodies? What kinds of exercise do we participate in? And, what kinds of steps can we take to live more gently on the earth where we create a balanced relationship rather than damaging the earth, our home?
